off-roading on Fraser island, sun, sand and drifting

this is the view as we drive around fraser Island where the beaches are the roads: there are signs and police too plus speed limits of 80km/p/hr - AND creeks, stones, soft patches and unexpected surface changes - all credit to Ali for an exciting ride with her as our chauffeur and tour guide (my neck hurts now - see the other images)

the wind was fierce but we braved it - check out the sea - full of sharks and crazy high waves - it is like this all the time NOT the swim and surf side of the beach

seriously the runway for the plane is on the beach - we knew where by the little yellow cones placed on the sand

the view form Eli Creek - we were too  woosy to bodysurf down it - unlike the Germans who arrived behind us - but the view is breath-taking

Leannan gets a turn at driving

so does Morrighan - she did face front and i sat and panicked in the back while both of them drove - my sister's patience and bravery never fails to amaze me = thank you Ali for letting the girls drive your car

Lake MacKensie and as usual Leannan is the first one of us to have a go and brave the cold

this is part of 'the road' on Fraser Island - I was a fraidy cat and did not try driving - or drifting Sy

Moll susing out getting in the Lake - eventually Morrighan and I joined Leannan: Ali did not!!!!!

proof - Ali has the shot with me in
Another fantastic day - thank you sis
to keep reminding myself that it is winter here!!
